On Sunday, November 6th, Agoura Hills witnessed a new kind of community celebration – the inaugural Agoura Hills Genius Awards. With brains buzzing and cubes twisting, local kids came together to compete for the title of Rubik’s Cube Champion and a $1,000 grand prize.
Held as a spirited showcase of problem-solving and focus, the event welcomed 50 registered participants, all 18 and under, along with their supportive families. The energy was electric as competitors raced against the clock—and each other—to complete the colorful 3×3 puzzle.
The Genius Awards weren’t just about solving cubes; they were about bringing the community together. Families cheered from the sidelines while enjoying treats, games, and entertainment provided by a host of incredible local sponsors. Special thanks go out to Tifa Gelato, Game Ogre, and Agoura Regency Movie Theater, whose support helped make this event a sweet and memorable experience for everyone.
From start to finish, the day was packed with excitement, encouragement, and plenty of high-fives. Whether a cube was solved in 10 seconds or 10 minutes, every participant walked away a winner—proving that genius comes in many forms.
